The paintings are abstract acrylics on canvas with an occasional glimpse of magical subject matter. Thick, rich impasto paint harmonizes with areas of exotic hand-dyed fabrics. Bold textures are discovered with innovative use of such materials as sawdust, cheese cloth, sand, and coffee grounds. My goal isn’t complex. It’s simply to express beauty in a direct and truthful manner, and for me to enjoy the process.
Most recent exhibiting was in the Long Beach Museum of Art’s Art Auction 15. Prior to that was an exhibit at Hellada Gallery in Long Beach, 2013, as well as Gallery Expo in 2013.
Besides extensive exhibiting in galleries and museums, such as the James Gray Gallery in Bergamot Station, there have been inclusions in juried shows at the San Francisco Museum of Art, Laguna Art Museum, Crocker Art Museum (Sacramento), and numerous others.
