Being the son of an architect and growing up in Seattle, I was exposed to art and artists of the Pacific Northwest at an early age.
Creativity was encouraged, so it’s a part of my DNA. I have always painted, but after my move to the Long Beach area I committed myself to the studio.
I work primarily with oil on canvas or wood panel, and texture and pattern are of great interest to me. I rarely have a finished image in mind when I start a painting and the journey to the end is what I enjoy the most. I consider it problem solving with many decisions made along the way.
