My Bachelor of Fine Arts degree was conferred by The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. I later studied animation at CalArts in Valencia, CA, and received a Masters Degree in Fine Art at California State University, Fullerton (2000).
In the 1980s and 90s, I worked in the animation industry and illustrated books and magazines for The Pushpin Group, in New York.
Between 1979 and 2012, I studied Japanese art in Hawaii and Japan and taught studio art and art history at seven colleges and universities in Southern California.
I’ve exhibited my work throughout the US, as well as in Canada and Japan, for over three decades.
Solo exhibitions were held at the USC Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, CA (2009); Riverside Art Museum in Riverside CA (2008); Matarango Museum in Ridgecrest, CA (1997) and Azusa Pacific University (2016).
Since 1982, I have exhibited regularly at five galleries based in Los Angeles, West Hollywood and Santa Monica, and shown my art at ComicCon, WonderCon, DesignerCon, the Los Angeles International Art Fair and other art and entertainment conventions in Southern California.
