Born and raised in Puerto Rico, I was surrounded by vibrant colors and always looked for the beauty in everything.

 

I explored many different techniques, media and styles of painting in college classes and discovered my personal voice and vocabulary in abstract oil paintings. The process and the product are exactly what I wanted- an emotional expression of my inner self. My paintings begin and end with feelings. As I excavate the layers of my inner landscape my paintings evolve through multiple layers poured paint and textures which trigger other abstract forms. Both the selection of the colors I use and the actual physical action of pouring the paint are emotional processes to me. My goal is to draw the viewer into the feelings I express so they can explore their own, to experience deeply personal as well as universal feelings and the truth that links us all.
