"Do not skim the surface like the dragonfly kisses the water."  Chinese Proverb

The structure of the book provides an endless number of possibilities for visual art. I have been making artist books since 1981, learning about books, art, and life as I go. My book, Chisholm Hours, is featured in Artists and their Books/Books and their Artists published in 2018 by the Getty Research Institute. In 2022, my work was included in the exhibition Book Art Artifact at the San Francisco Center for the Book. Visitors can see my latest version of Chisholm Hours, plus the GRI publication, and other artist books by other artists at my studio on the 2023 Mid-City Studio Tour. I will also provide visitors with the opportunity to marble their own paper.

In addition to my studio work, I am the Curator Emerita at the Long Beach Museum of Art and I teach Artist Books & Paper Making at California State University Long Beach. I have produced limited edition and unique artist books with grants from the California Arts Council, the City of Long Beach, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Visual Studies Workshop, the Women's Studio Workshop, and the City of Los Angeles. My artist books are in many private and public collections including the Getty Research Institute, Yale University, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the University of Washington among many others.
